Plumbing the Truth

Are we tired of hearing about all the socialist wealth-spreaders palling around the real America? You betcha. Almost as much as we’re fed up with the McCain/Palin campaign’s daily, dishonest use of “Joe the Plumber” as a caricature of working people, whatever their income level.

We’re not here to bash Joe Wurzelbacher. As fellow hardworking Americans, we’re sympathetic to his concerns and current situation. We’re just disappointed that since Senator McCain couldn’t manage to come up with a campaign theme after nearly a year of trying, he actually intends to ride this weak old nag all the way to the finish line.

Faulty logic is a lot harder to fix than faulty plumbing, but we’ve never been afraid to get a little wet. So, for the record, every non-partisan tax expert (like the Center for Tax Policy) who’s looked into this non-issue agrees that Obama’s tax plan saves most American families and small businesses money (including Joe W’s), shouldn’t prevent anyone from buying a business, realizing their dreams, or keeping their employees, and can actually enhance the spending power of the middle class, which drives economic growth.

President Bush has already spent the last 8 years proving that trickle-down economics don’t work. Isn’t it about time to get that leak fixed?

P.S.: Want to know how McCain really feels about fairer taxes? Hear all about it in his own words.
